We stayed in a separate two bedroom deluxe apartment complex affiliated with the hotel. The location was superb, facilities most comfortable..
Website was a little misleading as waterfront balcony photos were obviously taken of the hotel, not the apartments. A little misleading but otherwise excellent.
Convenience to Hobart Town and major attractions. Ability to prepare own meals if necessary.
Position, Position, Position. Just perfect for a first visit to Tassie. So close to everything with the privacy and ease that the over 50's need.
The only problem we had with our unit was the bed. There were lots of dips .. not so good for backs that aren't up to stratch!
Excellent location and facilities; will stay there again on my next trip to Hobart
The close proximity to the city and the restraunts at Salamancer [ Hobart ]
Very convenient, right at Salamanca. Very quiet with nice big rooms and parking.
Somerset on Salamanca has been used by my daughter whilst on business visits and it was through her insistance that we stayed and enjoyed it. It is well situated, quiet and well maintained.I was involved in the recent volcanic ash affair and officers were most helpful and considerate.
everytime we asked for something we got it eg. broken umbrella - replaced. Extra blankets etc. We had to complain about drilling that started at 8:15am one morning - you dealt with it and apologized although it didn't stop. I would have got them to stop and start again around 10am when most visitors have left. Regardless of fact it was to do with fire alarm. The workers were really inconsiderate and whoever approved the work needs to know this.

The workers were really inconsiderate and whoever approved the work needs to know this. This was my mother's first holiday since my father died. When she mentioned how noisy it was that was when I picked up the phone and complained. We came from Sydney wanting some quiet.
Superb location just steps away from the great Salamanca market. The staff were very friendly and offer such an outstanding service. Would highly recommend the place.
I like that you can book twin rooms with separate living and kitchen areas. I chose this hotel because of the rooming and its very handy location.
Excellent decore and appointments of apartments. Lots of space. Easy check in and out
There needs to be better directions for finding the apartments - even a Tomtom didn't get it right as it directed our friends to the wrong end of Salamanca place.
The apartments have excellent location for the Salamanca markets and local eatery's, taverns and a very handy grocery/fruit and vege shop that stocked local and imported wines, beer.
Two things one was that there was a surcharge when using a credit card, was not informed of this prior to my booking only on leaving. Secondly should be made clear that you are required to check in at Somerset on the Pier prior to going to the apartments, whilst we were there several people had the same hassel / confusion.
Very quiet location but central for good restaurants and shopping including the Saturday market.
The appartment was bright, well appointed, had usable balcony with good view of harbour, secure and close to Salamanca restaurants and shops
Internet was offered but both the room-supplied ethernet cable and a replacement were faulty. However, to credit of staff, a third cable supplied was brought around from Somerset office and it was okay. WiFi was not available in the room.
Location is right at Salamanca market - perfect location.
Car park & entrance to Salamanca great - view from balcony towards harbour is blocked by a warehouse - pity
